Kuting Pawty

Last night, I went to my first Christmas party this year. It was with my org-mates in Kuting. After the usual eating and chikahan, we had several raffles and "exchange gifts." And I got this!



Well, technically I got a teddy bear which Astrid wanted. But I didn't want to swap it for her calendar. So I asked Doc Luis if he wanted my stuffed toy for his Lemony Snicket journal, and he obliged. Astrid asked if he could have the teddy bear in exchange for the calendar, and Doc agreed. So everyone was happy after the post-exchange gift Exchange Gift!

It's a journal (but it has lines, oh well) with quotes from The Series of Unfortunate Events. I'm not a big fan of those books but I love journals and this one even includes stickers!

Die with a T

Since October, I've been trying to lose the flab in time for my first maid-of-honor stint for my friend's wedding two weeks from now. Who am I kidding? I can't not eat rice! There are days when I can (miraculously) survive without even a grain, but I make up for it by eating loads of pasta and bread (or sweets).

Like today, I ate rice for breakfast and lunch with oodles of ulam. I told myself, "Ok, di na ko lalamon." But when Spanky swung by with sapin-sapin, I polished it off under a minute. And even as I write, the frozen fruit salad (on a stick) in the freezer is calling me.

And I only have to sigh in resignation, thinking about all the Christmas food I'll be gobbling up in the coming days. And it doesn't help that her wedding's on the 30th right after all the merriment and cakes, hamon, queso de bola, lengua, and ... oh, you get my point.

Oh, and it doesn't help to be 30.

ain't complaining

...but i'm feeling ngarag. Tama nga ang sinasabi nilang maraming projects 'pag December kasi d'un naglalabas ng pera ang mga companies to produce their AVPs, events, etc.

I'm thankful for the busy-ness (kasi minsan naloloka ako pag walang ginagawa) and the future moolah (won't be getting paid 'til next month; one of the downsides of freelancing) pero minsan, all i wanna do is curl up with a book.

But life is gooooood.
