sane pa me

for a moment there, i thought november was going to be a raket-free month. just when i thought i couldn't take "relaxing" any longer, one project landed on my lap. Salamat Spanky at UPI.

It feels weird going into that office again for work but I guess one raket isn't gonna hurt. Us former probees have an unwritten rule, You may never passeth this wayeth againeth. We all like to think we've moved on. I have. (At least I think so.) But everyone knows "ber" months are "gastos" months and we all have to make some moolah.

Dahil wala pang raket, napapaka-arts and crafty ako. Oh yes, na-inspire ako ng project runway. Sana nga may 2nd season DVDs na kaso walang available nung pumunta kami sa Metrowalk. Anyway, so far ito ang mga inatupag ko:

Nanumbalik ang mga home ec (ek-ek) classes ko nung grade school. The radio patches were given to me by a producer I met in my former raket. Naka-discover kasi siya ng kid's sweater sa ukay peppered with radio prints. Astig yung old skool radio!


Hirap mag-satin stitch na hindi DMC thread ang gamit. Nagkakanda buhul-buhol. Pero pinagtiyagaan ko ang mga cheap but colorful threads I found at home. Favorite ko pa rin ang outline stitch (in between the satin stitches) kasi madaling gawin.


Next, nagcrochet ako ng flower. Gusto ko sana flower na umaangat ang petals pero eto, mukhang doily ang lumabas.

I sewed it on my denim shorts. Sabi ni Spanky, mukha raw pang-macho dancer shorts ko. Hindi naman ah. Pam-boho chick nga eh.


And of course, nag-attempt ako gumawa ng crochet earrings for Abidude. Pero after an hour of wearing it, natanggal sa hook ang crocheted thingy. Hindi matibay. Kailangan pang mag-practice. Sabi ni mommy, mukha raw akong may bilao sa tainga, hehe.

May blog na ulit si SPANKY! At aba, hindi sinasabi sa akin. Nagpapa-cool at hard-to-get; hinihintay na madiskubre ko on my own hehe. o etong sa yo! Basahin n'yo...biliiis! Habang nag-uupdate pa siya :) (peace, spanks.)

Too much journaling is bad fer ya.

So reads an article I saw in some random mag. Studies show that people who spend too much time writing in their journals are more likely to be depressed and "unable to move on."

Of course, keeping a journal has always been believed to be therapeutic but in the article, some guy who was famous for his journals agrees to the recent studies and says, "Everything in moderation." (Even love and faith?)

I'm a big fan of keeping journals; I've done so eversince the 5th grade. I've been feeling down these last couple of days (I've been writing in my journal everyday) so I've decided to bury my journal in its secret place and see if I feel better.

Wish I had photos to post but lazy moi, didn't bring Spanky's camera during the Mekong workshop.

Anyway, just wanted to eat my words. I super enjoyed the three-week workshop despite 1) losing my phone in a sari sari store in Davao (I got it back after 2 days...long story), 2) our audio in the shoot totally destroyed (good thing we had a back up in the micro casette) and 3) turning 30 (watched a Popong Landero concert that night so it was all good).

My point is, you never know when you're gonna have fun.

And on the last night of the workshop (this is cheezy), d' mokong's (title care of froggy) performed (in katutubo costumes) No Rain (Blind Melon) and Kapayapaan (Tropical Depression). Kumpleto instruments namin--2 guitars, k-hon, an Israeli drum, a rainstick, shakers, and a harmonica. Wow, dream come true for me hehe. I've always wanted to perform in a band.
